Joining forces with two Detroit area Improvisational greats, Rich Kowalewski and Rob Emmanuel, Dave
King performs an improvisational World Music experience that is more likely to be seen in Europe or New York City. The music goes beyond jazz combining elements of Classical, Brazilian, Fusion as well as Modern Jazz. Dave plays a nylon string guitar exclusively for this project combined with Rich Kowalewski's acoustic bass for a beautiful acoustic sound.
RICH KOWALEWSKI
Upright Acoustic Bass
Rich Kowalewski has been a prominent band leader, teacher and performer in the metro-Detroit area for over 30 years. Founder of the Basschool in 1994 (www.basschool.com) and also leader of the popular band Brazil and Beyond (www.brazilandbeyond.com). Rich is active in teaching, publishing and giving workshops in Jazz, Brazilian and contemporary styles. Adjunct music positions have included Oakland University, H.F.C.C., M.C.C. Schoolcraft College and Country Day Academy. Rich's performance credits includes Wynton Marsalis, renowned jazz artist; Martha Reeves, Motown vocalist; Ernie Wilkins, Count Basie arranger/composer and special guest artist at the 2015 Detroit Jazz Festival.
ROB EMANUEL
Drums and Percussion
Rob Emanuel graduated from the Percussion Institute of Technology with honors, where he studied with Joe Porcaro, Ralph Humphrey, Steve Houghton and Ed Soph. He has played with a wide range of musicians, including Bob Mintzer (of Yellowjackets and Jaco Pastorious fame), Chris Colllins (Phil Collins and W.S.U Jazz head), Joe Messina (Motown Funkbrothers) and has has released two Jazz CD's as leader, "Mystery Manual" and "Art Carnage."

Nylon Guitars and Looper
I'm so happy to have long time friends Rich Kowalewski and Rob Emanuel join me for this project. I love playing in the trio format. Rich and Rob share many of the same influences as me so they are a great compliment to my guitar style here. Going beyond traditional jazz or bebop, we use various effects, including a looper allowing this trio to have a very large and modern sound.

"Nylon" Project
Combining energetic performance with raw talent, Dave King is on his way to becoming an influential guitarist in many genres. The "Nylon" project features Dave in solo and duet (overdub) performances on various Nylon string guitars. The CD entitled Dave King "Nylon" is available on Apple Music, Amazon Music etc. and features Classical, Jazz and Brazilian/World Music pieces. Dave can be hired performing in this style either as a duet with a 2nd guitarist or utilizing pre-recorded backing tracks for any necessary 2nd guitar parts. Perfect for restaurants, private parties and weddings!
